Spring recipe 2

As we indicated in our last months blog on spring (you can find this blog under the header related subjects), the liver is central inthis season.

Your liver is a very ingenious system that deals with detoxification 24/7. Also, your liver is responsable for the free flow of qi. When the liver energy stagnates, you will feel tired, irritable and depressed. You can boost your liver energy with the right food, such as green leaf vegetables. The liver also benefits from drinking enough water and ginger tea. This will help to evacuate toxins sooner. Our bodies need more water than you might think. To check if you drink enough water, you could install a free waterapp on your phone, so that you are sure that you will have enough water.

Another way to support your liver in the disposal of waste, is the liverpack. For the liverpack you need green clay, water, a cotton cloth, a towel and a warm jug.  Green clay is available in health food and drugstores. It’s a powder you can drink mixed with water and you can use it as a pack. Green clay is 100% natural and contains minerals, such as calcium, magnesium and natrium. If you like, you can add an essential oil to the paste.

Spread the paste on the cotton cloth and place it on your liver, so, on the right side of you upper abdomen under our ribs. Place the  towel over it and to enhance detoxification, put a warm jug on it. Lay down and relax for about 30 minutes while your liver is detoxing. The best time to do a liver pack is between 2-4 PM, because the liver energy is at its weakest point then and it can use some extra help. Enjoy the relaxation in your abdomen!
