Ways to destress

In the previous blogs, we talked a lot about stress. Naturally, we cannot fail to talk about ways to reduce stress. Under the header related subjects, you will find a guest blog on TRE and you will find stress reducing exercises under the header movement. Under the header food and drinks, you will find tips to relax your liver.

* The liver, the organ of the spring, is the first organ that gets affected when stressed. The liver reacts in a positive way to the colour green. So, frequent walks in nature in this time of year is a natural way to get rid of stress. While walking in nature, focus on your feet, take deep and slow breaths.

* Meditate. Take 20 minutes me-time. Sit still, feet firmly on the floor. One straight line from your tailbone to your crown. Focus on your breathing. Let all thoughts pass by, don’t get involved in any of them. When a thought comes up, return to your breathing. There is a great saying: if you don’t have 20 minutes a day to meditate, your should meditate for an hour!

* Writing. Writing a in a diary, but also writing so called morning pages can be very healing. As soon as possible after getting up in the morning, you can associative write one A4. It’s not about beautiful, about the right punctuation or about correct language. Writing ensures that emotions are expressed in a safe manner. It makes a connection between head-heart-hand and thus it gives more earthing. The more earthing, the less stress. After a while you can burn your morning pages ritually.

* Take deep breaths a few times a day. Put down whatever it is you are doing and take 3 deep and conciou breaths. Then resume what you are doing.

* Cleaning.Cleaning your house, will clear your mind as well. Reduce excess stuff you have, will make more space in your head. When you bring your excess stuff to a second hand store, somebody else can benefit from it.

* Shake exercises. You can find them under the header movement.

* Dance! Put on your favorite music and let your body move freely. You can also choose to join a group where the 5 rhythms are danced. The 5 rhythms are the life’s work of Gabriela Roth. It is like an active meditation where you dance through the 5 rhythms to appropiate music. In this method you learn to move your body from the inside (it is not a trained dance), you learn what your personal rhythm is and how your rhythm relates to the rhythm of others. The 5 rhythms correlate with emotions and it is a very direct and friendly way to broaden your conciousness and a playful way to release stress.

* TRE. You will find a guestblog under the header related subjects.

* Body Stress Release. Hopefully a guestblog on this subject will follow soon.

* Take yoga nidra lessons. In this view, stress accumulates in various layers: in the muscles and in mental and emotional layers. Yoga nidra is also called yoga sleep. It is the science of relaxation that deeply influences the unconcious. In yoga nidra you will step by step release tension on the various levels, so that restructuring, transformation, disease recovery and creativity recovery can take place.

* Have a massage every once in a while. A massage will reduce stress and by touch, your body will create happy hormones.

Hopefully this blog was helpful for you. If you have more ideas on how to reduce stress, please let us know by hitting the contact button, so we can add to this list.
