Dahl

Dahl is a well known comfort food from India. It’s easy to make and very tasty. I ate it a lot when I was living in India.

For the baseline dahl, you need:

  • Red lentils
  •
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Fresh ginger
  • Turmeric
  • A bit of cumin powder
  • Coconut milk
  • A few fresh tomatoes
  • Fresh coriander

Wash the lentils and cook them in broth.

Chop the onion and the garlic.

Fry the onion and the garlic and add the turmeric, the comin powder and the ginger.

Then add the coconut milk and the chopped tomatoes.

When the lentils are cooked, add them.

Of course, you can also add other vegetables like spinach.

Puree everything lightly.

Top it of with fresh coriander.

You can eat this with naanbread or basmati rice.

Enjoy your meal!
