Walking

Our old friend Hippocrates said: ‘Walking is a man’s best friend’. Walking is a great way to destress. And why? What happens with your body when you walk 30 minutes, preferably, daily?

  • It will enhance brainfunctions. It is said that it might prevent early dementia and the risk of Alzheimers and it will improve your mental health.
  • Better vision. It might prevent  glaucoma, it will deminish the pressure on your eyes.
  • It gives a healthier heart. It will prevent heartdisease and strokes, because it lowers the blood pressure and improves the blood circulation. Also, the lung capacity will increase.
  • A healthier pancreas.Walking helps in avoiding diabetes.
  • Improved digestion. It is said that walking reduces the risk of colon cancer, it improves digestion and it helps preventing constipation.
  • You will burn fat faster and build up muscle.
  • Walking provides stronger joints and legs. Chinese medicine always says: ‘stronger legs means stronger health’. It improves your mobility, strengthens your bones, reduces the risk of bone fractures, prevents jointpains and (joint) inflammations.
  • Walking will give you a stronger spine, because of the enhanced blood circulation in the spine, it improves your posture and the mobility of the spine.
  • Walking calmes the mind and it prevents depression.

Enough reasons to get going! And the best thing of it all: it does not cost any money. Mayby just good walking shoes.
