Fall recipe

The fall is the season of dryness according to Chinese Medicine. One of the best ways to combat dryness and boost your lung energy, is through diet. Pears, honey, walnuts and sesame seeds are very well suited for this time of year.

The recipe

Wash 4 large ripe pears and leave the skins on. Just cut off the top and safe these for later. Remove the core of the bottompart of the pear to create a hole that leaves the bottom and the outside of the pear intact.

Place 2 teaspoons of honey, ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon and 1/8 teaspoon of cardamon in the hole of each pear. Put the top back on the pears.

Place the pears in a steamer and cook for 40 minutes or until soft.

If you like, you can sprinkle the pears with toasted almond slivers and serve warm.

Bonne appetite!
