Metal exercise

In this period of the year, the fall, we came up with an exercise that will energize both the lungs as the large intestine. So, a perfect exercise for this time of year, although you can do this exercise throughout the year.

The exercise is called hara training. Hara is an energetic point in your belly. You can do this exercise lying down, sitting or standing up. We will describe the exercise sitting up.

Hara training

You sit up straight. One line from your crown to your sit bones.

Your feet touch the ground. Really feel the ground.

Your shoulders, your whole body are/is relaxed. Let your arms hang beside your body.

Now take a deep breath and your belly will fill with air, so, you have a round belly.

Breathe out and pull your navel firmly toward your backbone. So, your tummy is flat.

Do this several times. Maybe you can already feel your belly warm up.

The next time you breathe out and you are pulling your naval toward your backbone, also pull up your pelvic floor. Hold your breath, hold the tension.

Then start to breathe in, slowly loosen the tension in the pelvic floor first and then the tension in your belly. Do this several times. This will warm up your belly. A warm belly is a healthy belly.

When you get a feel for this exercise, you can try it standing up or lying down as many times as you want. Your lungs and your large intestine will benefit greatly from this exercise! And since it is a meditative exercise, also your mind will clear up.
