Shake it, baby!

This month, you will find a guestblog on Tension Release Exercises, in short TRE, under the header related subjects. Since you can only learn the TRE exercises from a certified provider, we give you two exercises from the Healing Tao as well as an active meditation, called the Kundalini meditation.

Shake!

The shake exercise goes as follows.

Put your feet hipwidth. Keep your knees loose, your arms hang losely beside your body. You stand up straight, so a straight line from your tailbone to your crown. Breathe deeply in and out. Let the shake come up from your feet until your whole body shakes. Don’t do the shake, just allow it to happen naturally. Every-body has a different way of shaking. Let your head hang lose and also your jaw. If you want you can stick your tongue out too. Shake shake shake, don’t hold on to anything that might come up. You can shake as many times as you want, for as long as you want. We would recommend to shake 10 minutes a day for the best result though.

Happy baby

The second exercise is what we call ‘happy baby’.

For this exercise, you lay flat on your back. A bed is not suitable for this exercise. Put your legs and arms up and shake them like a baby does. Make any noise that comes up. Find the fun and the joy in this exercise. You can do this as many times and for as long as you want.

Kundalini meditation

This is a very well known active meditation from Osho. It has 4 stages.

First stage is 15 minutes and you shake as described under ‘shake’.

Second stage is 1 minutes and in those 15 minutes, you dance, let your body move freely. Let it movehowever it wants to move. Dance as if nobody is watching.

Third stage is 15 minutes. In this phase you close your eyes and you stand or sit still.

Fourth stage is also15 minutes. You lay down, with your eyes closed and be the observer of what is happening inside you.

You can find the accompanying music of Deuter on Youtube.
