Body Stress Release

In the last few months, we talked a lot about stress. One of many ways to bring down your stress level, is Body Stress Release. Want een lichaam dat vrij is van spanning, functioneert optimaal en is energiek.

Body Stress Release is a complementary body oriented health technique that releases (deeply located) muscle tension and stress. It induces the relaxreflex which makes the body restore itself. When the tension in the muscles releases, it enables the nervous system to communicate better, so that pain and/or stress disappear.

As stated in previous blogs, stress can be positive, but too much stress is stored in the body and needs releasing. Pain is a signal that you’d better make a change and slow down.

What causes body stress?

  • Physical overload. Think of an accident, a fall or wrong lifting of a(n heavy) object. Body stress can also be built up by an incorrect posture, heavy sports or repetitive work. You can also imagine that a long term illness can build up body stress as well as a pregnancy.
  • Emotional overload. This can occur when you get overwhelmed with f.ex. anger, the loss of a loved one or some other kind of shock. Also emotions that are building up over a longer period of time can  cause body stress. Think of f.ex. fiancial difficulties, depression or relationship problems.
  • Chemical overload. You can take in, breathe in toxic substances or through the skin. Think of e-numbers, medicines, paint, cremes or cosmetics.

Body stress influences the muscles and tight muscles influence the nervous system. During a body stress release session, you lay fully dressed on a specially designed the table and the muscle tension and stress are released in a precise and effective way, so that your own body can restore its natural resilience.
